The phrases “adventure sport” or “extreme sport” are used to classify certain activities that feature a high level of danger. These activities often involve speed, height, a high level of physical exertion, and highly specialized gear or spectacular stunts. These adventure sports can be competitive or non-competitive and often involve individual participants, rather than teams. The high danger associated with the activities places the participants at high risk for injury and/or death in the case of an accident or mistake.

Tracy searched online and obtained a list of 125 “regular” sports and 40 “adventure” sports to try, then she started tracking past and current sports activities, trying a new one about once a month. After announcing her intention publicly, other sports and adventure challenges have been brought to her attention and an ongoing list of those are being kept and tracked to try.
